So you’re in the market for a brand new car – exciting! But now that you’ve made the decision to buy something new, the only thing left to do is figure out what kind of car, in particular, you would be interested in purchasing. There’s a suitable car for every kind of lifestyle; for example, parents often opt for the traditional and practical minivan. But someone young and adventurous might want something more fun, have you considered a coupe? Obviously, it looks cool, but there are pros and cons to this purchase, and you might want to think about them before making an expensive commitment.

PROS:

It’s a modern, beautiful car

The great thing about a car like this is that it’s so modern and beautiful, so you can check that off your list. A sports car will always be the object of admiration for a lot of people, and your cool factor will automatically go through the roof. (Get it? Through the roof, because it’s a coupe?) This is a car for a modern person, and if that’s what you were looking for, this is it.

It’s a fun vehicle to have

So what’s so great about owning a coupe? The hatch at the top can be opened, to let the sun and the wind (and possibly rain) come in. It gives you all of the fun for summertime while still having a sturdy, metal roof. So, it’s unlike a convertible that looks amazing and will attract admiring and jealous stares, but is so impractical, when wintertime comes. In short, it’s fun when you want it to be, but it can be used as a “normal” car just fine when the sun goes away. Convenient, isn’t it?

CONS:

It’s not as practical as a traditional car

Obviously, the coolest feature on this car is the fact that part of the top comes off, to let the breeze run through your hair. But this same feature is also the least practical thing about this car. First of all, you can only drive with the hatch off within a slight timeframe, when the weather allows it (unless you live in Southern California). So you might want to think twice about buying a car so that you can poke your head out through the opening in your roof when someone else is driving.

It’s not as spacious as a regular car

Another thing you may want to take into consideration is the fact that a coupe doesn’t have as much space as a sedan, for example. Of course, if you are interested in a coupe, you are probably not a family person (yet), but before you buy, be aware of the fact that space is limited. That’s because this is a sports car, so it only has two doors. You won’t be taking road trips with friends in this vehicle or taking your nana to the hospital, that’s for sure. In conclusion, a coupe is a great choice for certain people, but not all of them. If you are a modern individual, with no children or family obligations, who wants a car that is beautiful and fun, a coupe may be a good choice. If, however, you are looking for something spacious and very practical, maybe consider some other types of cars.
